What drives us
Our mission is to enhance lives by creating tools for a quiet, healthy and stylish home: appliances that are reliable, efficient and a joy to use – for more peace of mind in everyday life.
Design that delights
“We define our own rules at Bosch. Because our design is very functional and pure, there is little room for formal gadgetry,” explains Bosch lols10Ͷע Appliances’ principal designer Robert Sachon. “The individual elements are therefore of even more fundamental importance.” Multiple awards each year show that he and his team are on the right track.
Commitment to quality
Already in 1886, founder Robert Bosch considered less-than-perfect quality “intolerable”. For us today, premium quality means high-end materials and first-class expertise, every step of the way: from the first design, to the tiniest spare part, to our award-winning customer service network.
Innovative by nature
Prolific innovation is in our DNA. In 2016 alone, we submitted close to 900 patent applications in the home appliance sector. But our innovations aren’t just gimmicks; they deliver real benefits. Just look at our PerfectCook cooking sensor. It measures the temperature of what’s inside your pan and adjusts the setting of your cooktop accordingly. Your pasta will never boil over again.
From production to packaging, every aspect of our business is sustainable – without compromising on performance and design. In fact, our home appliances are among the most efficient and economical in the world. Just one example: since 1990, we have cut the water consumption of our appliances by 59%. Innovations like i-DOS, a washing machine feature that automatically adds the right amount of detergent and water to each cycle, make it possible.
A partner you can count on
Bosch appliances are built to last, even being handed down from one generation to the next. But reliability extends beyond our products. Our award-winning customer service provides peace of mind and expert support – whether you’re planning a family kitchen or a large residential project.
A legacy of innovation
Explore some highlights of our history.
State-of-the-art production worldwide
As of 2020, Bosch appliances are manufactured worldwide. The Group's 40 production sites are located in Europe, the United States, Latin America and Asia. Thanks to a strong global network of sales, production and service, Bosch empowers consumers around the world with thoughtfully engineered German technology.
The elegant all-in-one cooktop and hood
Combining the power of induction cooking with ventilation technology, our innovative venting cooktop lets you cook and capture steam in one elegant surface. This lean solution eliminates the need for a separate cooker hood – and frees up overhead space. Perfect for kitchen islands or kitchens with slanted ceilings, our venting cooktop delivers much-needed flexibility to consumers who are planning a new kitchen.
We celebrate 130 years!
Back in 1886, Robert Bosch set up shop in Stuttgart, Germany, with just two associates. In 2016, 375,000 associates celebrate our company's anniversary worldwide. During those 130 years of quality-driven engineering, the company evolves into one of Germany's ten largest enterprises, operating in more than 150 countries. Truly a success story.
Connected appliances with lols10Ͷע Connect
With lols10Ͷע Connect, Bosch lets users control their home appliances even when they aren't at home. Even after its release in 2015, our suite of Wi-Fi-enabled appliance solutions continues to grow: the latest innovations like Object Recognition show you the best place in your fridge for fruits and veggies. And Connected Dry lets your washing machine share details like the volume and moisture content of your laundry so your dryer can immediately select the ideal drying programme.
Bake and roast to perfection
In 2014, your oven gets a smart update through the marriage of PerfectBake and PerfectRoast. These newly developed sensor-controlled functions keep your oven informed about the exact progress of your dishes. Automatic adjustments to the heat type, time and temperature guarantee you perfect results, meal after meal.
Prolific innovation is in our DNA
Bosch achieves a new record in innovation in 2012. With nearly 90,000 active patents and patent applications within the Group, the company occupies a leading position among the world's most innovative companies.
PerfectDry with Zeolith®
Bosch's passion for detail runs deep. Even hard-to-dry plastic dishes are no match for our latest dishwasher technology. PerfectDry uses the natural mineral Zeolith® to bind moisture and convert it into warm air. This air is evenly distributed and dries dishes both powerfully and gently thanks to a 3D air flow. Dishes, perfectly dried.
The world’s first combined washer-dryer entered the market in the late 60s, bringing ease into the laundry room with a polyester-friendly spin cycle and a non-stop programme. Transferring heavy, wet laundry was a thing of the past.
Pioneer in refrigeration
In 1933, Bosch’s first electric refrigerator entered the market, followed in 1952 by our first kitchen machine and, six years later, our first washing machine. Common household tasks – storing food, cooking, baking and laundry – now entailed much less effort.
How it all began
Robert Bosch always acted on the belief that honest workmanship is more important than temporary gain. In 1886, he founded his first engineering workshop in Stuttgart, Germany, laying the foundation for home appliances that represent utmost in quality, technical perfection and reliability.
